Wu Yao's "Shebude White": A Blend of History and Luxury

Reviving Ancient Aesthetics in High-End Liquor Packaging

The "Shebude White" design is a super high-end product of Shede liquor. The jade patterns of the Warring States Period serve as the main element of the outer package. The jade wares from this period are known for their large number, good quality, and innovative shapes. The lines were used more skillfully, and the aesthetic content of the patterns increased sharply. The cutting technique is elegant and powerful, and the style is fresh and unrestrained.

The design's unique properties lie in its careful attention to detail and its commitment to historical accuracy. The bottle's shape is cylindrical, a classic, decent, and steady form. The upper part is made of pure and transparent glass, while the lower part is glass with a ribbon pattern. The bottle cap is also printed with a golden cloud pattern, symbolizing the golden age of a bottle of good liquor.

The design was realized using glass bronzing, a technique that adds a touch of luxury to the packaging. The technical specifications of the design are 20cm x 10cm x 30cm, making it a compact yet impactful piece of art. The design tags include wine, packaging, and gift, indicating its potential as a high-end gift item.

The design team included Wu Yao as the original designer, Zheng Ziyang and Shi Huafeng as graphic designers, and Liao Hao as the 3D designer. Their collective efforts resulted in a design that is both aesthetically pleasing and culturally significant.

The design's interaction is another aspect that sets it apart. The strong-flavor Chinese spirit is clearer when it flows into the transparent glass bottle. The most wonderful part is at the bottom of the bottle, which features a golden Chinese landscape. The mountains in China are undulating and continuous, like the extensive and profound culture with a long history in China. The bottle of Shebude liquor is covered with the patterns with the richest cultural deposits, just like it is covered with snow.

The "Shebude White" design was awarded Silver in the A' Packaging Design Award in 2023. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
